Mark Penjueli is a student at New York University Abu Dhabi, studying Biology and Pre-medicine. Prior to NYUAD, Mark attended Jai Narayan College from Years 9 to 12 before completing his secondary school studies at United World College of Hong Kong on a full scholarship. Mark is of Rotuman descent with links to Tonga and Wallis and Futuna. From a young age, Mark had a dream of pursuing medicine but is now considering opportunities in academia due to his research experience at NYUAD in indigenous population genetics and exercise science with the NYUAD Genetic Heritage Group and NYUAD Sport and Wellness Science laboratory, respectively. Apart from academics, Mark enjoys weightlifting, guitar, cooking, and outdoor sports.
